Een TDS-meter meet de hoeveelheid Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in een oplossing.

Deze meting wordt gebruikt om de zuiverheid van het door uw RO-unit geproduceerde water te bepalen en geeft een indicatie wanneer uw DI-hars of -membraanleven ten einde loopt. De inline-versie meet de TDS van het voedingswater voor de RO-eenheid en de TDS van het zuivere water uit de unit.

Omdat opgeloste geïoniseerde vaste stoffen zoals zouten en mineralen bijdragen tot de geleidbaarheid van een oplossing, meet een TDS-meter de geleidbaarheid van de oplossing, die vervolgens wordt omgezet in een TDS-waarde.

TDS is direct gerelateerd aan de kwaliteit van water, d.w.z. hoe lager een TDS-getal, des te zuiverder het water. Als een voorbeeld, zal gezuiverd water met omgekeerde osmose een TDS tussen 0 en 10 hebben, terwijl leidingwater tussen 20 en 300 zal variëren.

Inline TDS meter

A TDS Meter measures the amount of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in a solution.

This measurement is used to determine the purity of the water produced by your RO unit and will give an indication of when your DI resin or membrane life is coming to an end. The inline version measures the TDS of the feed water before the RO Unit and the TDS of the pure water from the unit.

Since dissolved ionized solids like salts and minerals contribute to the conductivity of a solution, a TDS meter measures the conductivity of the solution which is then converted to a TDS reading.

TDS is directly related to quality of water i.e., the lower a TDS figure, the more pure the water. As an example, reverse osmosis purified water will have a TDS between 0 and 10, whereas tap water will vary between 20 and 300.
